Grimsby Town unveil new home shirt and fans love it

Grimsby Town FC have unveiled their new home shirt for the 2024-2025 football season.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, the club gave fans their first look at the shirt with a poignant video showcasing the Mariners' past, present and future, featuring many of the club's loyal fans, both young and old.

Some familiar faces appear in the video, including Grimsby actor Thomas Turgoose, players Doug Tharne and Danny Rose and members of the women's team.

Taking to the comments section, hundreds of Mariners fans have praised the new Umbro shirt, with many describing it as 'a thing of beauty'.

One person wrote: "I'm having me a bit of that! That's beautiful, best one in a very long time. UTM."

"Take my money! That's a beaut!," read another comment.

Another fan wrote: "I’m in heaven what a shirt."

"Looks great. Like the red pinstripes. So much better than the mainly black, dark depressing macron shirts. Very nice," said one person.

There was also excitement over a yellow away shirt that was teased in the footage, with one fan posting: "Noticed the Umbro Yellow Away kit in the video as well both kits are a thing beauty - take my money now!"

Another said: "Been waiting for a yellow away shirt for ages. Something different from the norm. Well done to all in the process."
