Gunman revealed in Elba murder, court documents

ELBA, Ala (WDHN) — Only one of the three charged in the Valentine’s Day murder of a 24-year-old Elba man pulled the trigger that delivered the killing blow, court documents allege.

Freddie McGee Jr., Lena McGhee, and an unidentified 17-year-old female are all charged in the murder of Ethan Hill.

Court documents filed on Thursday claim McGee was the one who gunned down Hill on the road of Jones Street in Elba, while Lena McGhee was only an accessory. Both are charged with one count of murder.

Coffee County Sheriff Scott Byrd says Hill was shot multiple times after an argument with the three suspects at around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday.

After Hill’s murder, Elba Police, CCSO Deputies, and state agents began a manhunt for the three that lasted almost seventeen hours.

Sheriff Byrd told WDHN they were all captured in a home on Lowry Street in Enterprise at around 1:00 p.m. Thursday.

It is unknown what alleged part the unidentified 17-year-old played in the murder.
