Guns N' Roses Trio Reunite After Two Decades

Guns N' Roses stars Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan have performed together onstage for the first time since 1993.

The US rock band - one of the biggest groups of the late 1980s and early 1990s - played an intimate concert at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on Friday night which was reportedly formalised just a day earlier.

Hundreds of die-hard fans had queued up for only 250 tickets that were on sale.

Mobile phones and cameras were banned from the concert but some fans still managed to put photos of the reunited group on social media.

Singer Rose, lead guitarist Slash (who had left in 1996) and bassist McKagan (1997) played for the first time since a gig in Buenos Aires on 17 July, 1993.

They were joined onstage in LA by longtime keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus and drummer Frank Ferrer.

The first songs the reunited band performed together were believed to be It's So Easy and Mr Brownstone.

Axl Rose and Slash reportedly hugged at the end of the show after one of their biggest hits Paradise City.

The Troubadour has a strong link with the band, as they reportedly got their first record deal with Geffen Records after playing a show there in the 1980s.

The band has also announced the dates of their Not in This Lifetime tour.

They will play 20 North American stadium gigs beginning in Detroit on 23 June and ending in San Diego on 22 August.

After months of speculation they confirmed they would be going on the road in a post on Facebook.

It said: "Following months of intense rumour, speculation and feverish excitement from rock music fans around the world, Guns N' Roses confirmed today they will embark on a massive North American summer stadium tour as founder Axl Rose and former members, Slash and Duff McKagan regroup for what will be one of the century's most anticipated musical events."

Before this summer's tour, GNR will perform six more gigs in April, including a pair of Las Vegas and Mexico City concerts, and two headlining slots at the Coachella festival in California.
