Hundreds of mourners gathered to say farewell to late Home and Away actress Jessica Falkholt on Monday morning (January 22).

Falkholt – who played Hope Morrison on the Australian soap – passed away on January 17, after sustaining injuries in a Boxing Day car crash that also claimed the lives of her sister Annabelle and parents Lars and Vivian.

The family were travelling along the New South Wales highway when they were involved in the fatal collision, which also killed the driver of another vehicle.

The crash is still being investigated by Australian police.

Falkholt's funeral was held on Monday morning at St Mary's Catholic Church in Sydney.

Despite her life support being switched off on January 9, the actress clung to life until she sadly passed away a little over a week later.

The decision to end her life support came just one day after her parents and sister were laid to rest in the same church.

Stars of Home and Away have led the tributes to Jessica, with Jackson Heywood, who plays Brody Morgan, calling her "a beautiful soul".

Jessica played the role of Hope on Home and Away for 16 episodes in 2016. Her storylines included being kidnapped by Spike Lowe and being arrested for stealing credit card details from customers.
