Hackney: Man chased through east London market by thug armed with meat cleaver
A man grabbed a meat cleaver from a shop before chasing another man through a busy market street in east London.
Several 999 calls were made to police after the frenzy in Ridley Road Market in Dalston on Wednesday afternoon.
Police said they were called at just after 3.30pm on Wednesday to reports of a man wielding a knife in the market, which runs between Kingsland High Street and Dalston Lane and has over 100 stalls.
The man picked up the meat cleaver, which appears to measure over six inches, from a shop in a bid to chase another person, Hackney Police said.
