“Quarter-sized” hail pelted an interstate in central Utah as a thunderstorm passed through the region on Thursday, June 27, footage shows.Video filmed and posted to X by Brody Cowing shows hailstones falling on Interstate 70 between Emery and Green River in Utah. The hailstones can be heard hitting Cowing’s vehicle and the ground.The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a flash flood warning to remain in effect in the area until Thursday evening, with thunderstorms and potentially life-threatening flash flooding forecast. The storm was described by search and rescue as a once-in-150-years event, catching even experienced guides off guard.”Erickson said that the unexpected flash flood brought close to four inches of rain in just 20 minutes.
