Hairy Bikers star Si King has thanked fans days after sharing an emotional update on his final project with Dave Myers. The much-loved TV chef died in February, just under two years after he revealed he’d been diagnosed with cancer in May 2022.

Best friend Si announced the sad news of Dave's death in a heartbreaking message shared on social media, in which he confirmed he, Dave's wife Liliana Orzac, his family and close friend David were all by his side as he sadly passed on February 28, aged 66.

Recently, in a video shared on Instagram last week, Si revealed his final project with his late friend, Hairy Bikers' latest book, 'Fast and Fresh'. Posting on the account he once shared with Dave, the 57-year-old looked visibly moved in a video where he announced the release of the cookbook that he says Dave was "so proud of".

Clutching a copy of the book, he said: "Hello everyone it's Si here. Fast and Fresh from The Hairy Dieters is available tomorrow. Thank you if you pre-ordered, it's hugely appreciated."

Si went on to express his and Dave's love for creating the book, mentioning: "It was a book that Dave and I really loved working on, so yeah there's 80 delicious and easy recipes, easy as I know we're all pushed for time these days. I don't know how that happens but we just are aren't we."

He also gave fans a sneak peek into the variety of recipes featured and continued: "It's a lovely book and we had the greatest of joy working on it together. Dave was very proud of it, so here it is." , He added his thanks to the duo's fans for "your continued support" which "doesn't go unnoticed". Wrapping up his heartfelt message, he said: "Lots of love and I hope you enjoy Fast and Fresh."

And now Si has shared an update after an overwhelming amount of support from fans. He took to Instagram on Tuesday evening (April 30) to share a video of thanks with his 385,000 followers as he revealed that the book had hit the coveted number one spot.

"Listen, it's just a massive thank you from me and all the Hairy Bikers team for all your support for Fast and Fresh," he said. "I've just had the news that we're number one - but not just number one in Food and Drink, we're number one in the bestsellers chart [too]." He added: "Thanks for your continued support - honestly it means such a great deal and [is] particularly fitting at the moment... love to you all."

Alongside the post, the caption read: "Such fantastic news!!! Don’t forget to get your copy!" before their fans and followers again shared messages of praise, love and support.
