Half A Month’s Rain Falls In One NIGHT Bringing Flash Floods And Travel Chaos To Britain

Southern Britain’s heatwave came to a juddering halt overnight as torrential rain and flash floods hit parts of London and the south east.

Almost half a month’s rain in one night causing a Milton Keynes to London train to derail and widespread flooding across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hampshire, Dorset as well as the capital.

There were reports of a family trapped in a house in Oxfordshire, thousands of homes left without power, and firefighters were called to a maternity ward in Wallingford.

Didcot Parkway train station was waterlogged and there were large delays reported on the M4, M40 and M25 motorways this morning.
