Hamilton Accies extend midfielder's deal as boss hails 'different' qualities

Hamilton Accies midfielder Connor Murray has signed a one-year contract extension at the New Douglas Park club.

Former Partick Thistle and Queen of the South star Murray, 27, scored four times last season as Accies returned to the Championship at the first time of asking.

Murray signed a one-year deal in July of last year, having been released by the Doonhamers, and was technically out of contract in the summer, but remained training with Accies.

Boss John Rankin told the club's website: "I'm really happy that Connor will be staying with us next season. He's a talented player that offers something a bit different on the park.

"He has been in with us for pre-season, kept himself ticking over the summer, so he was ready to get going, and I'm looking forward to working with him again."
