'Who did her hands, Donald Trump?': Susanna Reid's Oscars fake tan mocked

When Good Morning Britain’s team headed out to Hollywood to broadcast from the Oscars, they got a taste of some of the stress that goes with preparing for the red carpet – and unfortunately for Susanna Reid, that included a dodgy fake tan.

The GMB host’s gold sequinned gown was a hit, with viewers clamouring to offer their opinions on how beautiful she looked.

And the ITV presenter added that her jewellery, lent to her for the show, included a pair of $175,000 diamond earrings and a matching $300,000 necklace.

But the classy look was let down by an orange-toned fake tan that looked as though it had been hastily applied with particular concentration on her hands, and seemed to get more obvious as the show wore on.

It’s a tough gig for a London-based presenter to have to leave the grey, rainy UK winter and look sun-kissed alongside some of the world’s most glamorous stars.

But ironically, with temperatures set to reach 20 degrees in England this week, Reid might have had a better chance at a natural tan by staying at home.

This isn’t the first time Reid has suffered a fake tan fail – at the end of January she appeared on GMB with brown-streaked hands as Morgan told her: “We look like Michael Jackson before and after.”

She admitted then: “I go to the beautician for a spray tan. I didn’t yesterday, I decided to do it myself. School girl error.”

There was still plenty of praise for Reid’s glammed-up look, though.

And at least guest reporter Perez Hilton’s blue sparkly beard detracted attention from any fake tan mishaps.

Reid and Morgan will be back in their usual studio for Good Morning Britain next Monday, after a few weeks off where Richard Madeley and Kate Garraway have been filling in for them.
