A protester accused of putting stickers on the doors and windows of Harrods during a demonstration about staff pay will stand trial in April.

Francesca Gore, 51, of East Finchley, was allegedly part of a January 7 blockade outside the famous Knightsbridge store, arguing waiters do not receive enough of the tips left by customers.

"This relates to a protest taking place and being policed on January 7 outside Harrods”, prosecutor Carly Loftus told Hammersmith magistrates' court.

The protest was organised by the United Voices of the World movement, and a smoke bomb was let off during the demonstration.

Gore appeared in the dock this morning to plead not guilty to criminal damage, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer.

Presiding magistrate, Lord Frederick Ponsonby, adjourned the case for a trial on April 5.

Gore, of Huntingdon Road, East Finchley, was freed on unconditional bail until the start of her trial.
