Helen Flanagan has joked that she was an “absolute psycho” as she waited for her ex-Scott Sinclair to propose – and revealed she’s still wearing her engagement ring even though they’ve split.

The former Coronation Street star split from the footballer late last year and they are co-parenting their three children - Matilda, seven, Delilah, four, and Charlie, two.

The break-up came 13 years after they first got together and around five years after Sinclair popped the question at Disneyland Paris. They never tied the knot.

Opening up in a string of videos on her Instagram Story, Flanagan revealed the sparkler held a lot of good memories and that she had been waiting a while for Sinclair to propose.

“I still wear my engagement ring, but I wear it on the other finger,” she said.

“Because it’s beautiful and I love it."

“It was part of my journey and also it took him bloody long enough to put it on my finger!" she said.

“I remember when he did propose, I actually really loved my engagement, it was really nice... and it is nice as well to kind of keep all the good memories and all the nice things.”

Flanagan, 33, laughed: “I remember being like, ‘Is he going to propose?’ I was an absolute psycho about it.

“I was like, psycho, I was like, ‘This is our second child!’ I was like, ‘Where is my ring?’”

“So yeah, I’m not taking it off my finger,” she laughed.

The actor also shared that the split had been a real “adjustment” as she hadn’t been single for her entire adult life.
