Yahoo News Helen Skelton wished well as she confirms 'break' after emotional reunion with Strictly Come Dancing stars
Helen Skelton has been flooded with messages as she confirmed a short break from hosting duties on Morning Live. The presenter took to social media to share a video that featured a string of snaps as she showed off her recent looks from appearing on the show.
It was back in December that Helen, 40, was confirmed as one of the new permanent presenters of Morning Live. Kym Marsh and Gethin Jones have hosted the BBC One morning show since its launch in 2020.
But it has since relocated to Manchester city centre and has seen a string of well-known faces also taking on the main hosting role but following its time extension, it was revealed that Kym and Gethin were getting some new permanent co-stars.

Helen said at the time she was "so excited" to become a permanent presenter on the show, which started in January, alongside Michelle Ackerley. They have been alternating the gig alongside Gethin every Monday to Wednesday while Gethin continues to present four to five shows a week with Kym appearing on Thursdays as well as guest presenters including Sara Cox, Kimberley Walsh, Gaby Roslin and Rav Wilding who have continued to co-host regularly too.
But this week, Helen revealed it was time for a little break and as she shared a video of all her recent looks, in which she could be seen sporting an eye-catching red dress and numerous floral numbers. Alongside the post on Instagram, the former Blue Peter star wrote on Thursday (May 16): "We are having a little holiday @bbcmorninglive..."
"Last day for a couple of weeks tomorrow. Thanks for your company. Thanks for sharing your stories. Thanks for inviting us into your living rooms. @gethincjones @michelle_ackerley @ravwilding #morningtelly #morninglive #bbc #manchester."
And it didn't take long for the compliments and messages to come flooding in. @leighhayward996 said: "Gorgeous no matter what you wear." @melissabourne wrote: "Gorgeous." @fezzo1963 commented: "Absolutely beautiful." @cornell.jessie replied: "Truly welcome. Have a wonderful break!" @c.hunt1958 shared: "Knock out Helen! Have a great holiday." @narnia1hp added: "Hurry back we will miss you."
It comes after Helen said she was "still smiling" as she reunited with her former Strictly Come Dancing co-stars. The TV star, who made it to the final of the BBC One dance contest in 2022 with Gorka Marquez, recently welcomed pro dancers Dianne Buswell, Vito Coppola and Neil Jones into the studio.
Following the star's appearance on the show, Helen took to social media and shared some sweet snaps with the Strictly pros and more as she shared how she'd also headed to Manchester's Bridgewater Hall to see a number of them in action on the Strictly Come Dancing The Professionals tour.
Alongside the post, the mum-of-three wrote: "Something very special about that group of dancers ….. total joy to watch you guys do what you do best in @strictlycomedancinglive with the @bbcmorninglive gang. Still smiling having seen you light up the stage. Congratulations @jasongilkison … for what it’s worth Ken No.1 got my vote @gorka_marquez."
