THERE is certainly no shortage of coffee shops in Hereford these days.

To help you find your perfect coffee, here is a list of some of the best-rated independent haunts on Trip Advisor (in no particular order).

Coffee Cart

Neither freezing temperatures nor pouring rain will stop the Hereford public from sitting in High Town and enjoying a caffeine hit here so the coffee must be good.

Those too young to appreciate the hot drinks are big fans of the Snow Shakes.

The Coffee Cart opened in 1999 and its selection of food and drinks has made it a firm favourite. It now has several locations in Hereford, one in High Town, another at Old Market, and a third at the Rotherwas Industrial Estate. The company has a 3.5-star rating on Trip Advisor.

Daily Grind

This hidden gem is one of the great businesses in the Butter Market, with a five-star rating on Trip Advisor.

One reviewer said: "Superb, full-flavoured coffee with no burnt taste. Good sized coffee at very low cost, served with a smile and a good bit of humorous chat. Prefer to support a place like this. Plenty of space to sit within the Butter Market as well."

Edison's Cafe

Edison's Cafe is located in Rotherwas Industrial Estate. Friendly staff serve great coffee and there is always a selection of cakes. But if you've got time or your 11 o'clock coffee break merges into lunchtime, the cafe also have excellent lunches.

The cafe has a four-star rating on Trip Advisor.

Eden House of Coffee

This cafe has been going for almost three years, and is based in Hereford's High Town.

As one Trip Advisor reviewer said, giving it a five-star rating: "Excellent little coffee shop. Staff always very polite and helpful, puts the big names like Costa and Coffee 1 in the shade. Always clean. This has now become our favourite go-to coffee place. It is definitely the best."
