Ahead of the It trailer, which is due to FINALLY arrive this week, we have our first proper look at the self-styled 'Losers Club'.

They're the group of teen misfits who have to unite to defeat the ultimate evil – a monster who likes to take the form of Pennywise the Dancing Clown.

From left to right, you can see Wyatt Oleff (as Stan Uris), Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard (as Richie Tozier), Chosen Jacobs (as Mike Hanlon), Jaeden Lieberher (as Bill Denbrough), Sophia Lillis (as Beverley Marsh) and Jeremy Ray Taylor (as Ben Hanscombe) – six members of the gang that comes together after the murder of Bill Denbrough's little brother Georgie.

Bill Skarsgård will play the murderous children's entertainer Pennywise – two new and deeply ominous pictures of him in character have been revealed, too.

The It movie is, of course, an adaptation of the Stephen King novel.

His book was made into a two-part miniseries back in 1990 which covered the Losers Club and their original battle with Pennywise – and also their reunion, 27 years later, as adults tackling the evil that has resurfaced.

It is directed by Andres Muschetti, who made creepy kid movie Mama. There's no clarity yet on whether It is going to be the first of a two parter – but as we understand it, the movie due out this year won't cover the adult reunion.

Stephen King has seen the film and tweeted, confirming it would be part one of the story.

Though if it's a massive flop, presumably there may not be a part 2.

We reckon the Losers Club has a distinct Stranger Things vibe – that's perhaps not massively surprising given that Finn Wolfhard stars in both, and the creators of Stranger Things have openly said that Stephen King's It was one of their main inspirations.

Look out for the trailer later this week.
