Simon Grix believes Jake Trueman is 'ready' to make his long-awaited Hull FC comeback at Warrington Wolves this Friday night. The interim head coach still has a final call to make with the half-back, but things are looking promising with all the physical and mental boxes ticked off.

Trueman has been in full training for weeks, and by many accounts, is looking sharper and sharper as he gets into his stride. He's in good nick, having used the full extent of his expected 6-9 month recovery period to get himself in the best shape possible after a serious Achilles injury.

That was always the goal, with Trueman making sure he prepares himself the best he can before stepping back into Super League action., a return that is looking likely to be in Cheshire this Friday.

"He's looking good," Grix said in his pre-match press conference. "He's looked really good for a few weeks now. We haven't confirmed fully if he's playing yet. We need to decide how we use him, when we use him, and if we use him.

"It's not something we want to rush but I'd say he's ready. We just need to have that chat and make absolutely sure that he is where he needs to be to play. There's a school of thought on returning to play and how many minutes and such and working out how it can work for us. We just need to go through all of that and decide what's best."

Grix also confirmed that Tom Briscoe and Cam Scott will return to the side against Warrington. Overcoming a calf injury, Briscoe is set for a second debut for Hull at the same venue as his 2008 bow, while Scott is a welcome addition having missed the Leeds game after a head bang at St Helens.

"They'll be in the squad," Grix continued. "They've both trained really well today. They've had a good session and a bit of a laugh which is good when the sun is out. We've got one more session together on Thursday but they'll definitely be in the 21. We've just got to work out those combinations now."

Grix also confirmed that Brad Fash is closing in on his comeback. The prop had a setback in his rehab from an ankle injury, but is understood to be making progress, although no timeframe has been given for his return.

"As soon as possible, that's his target," Grix added. "It will be on how he feels. He's not too far away. He's at the back end of where we expected him, but in the meantime, we'll go with what we've got."

As well as Fash, Hull will be without Carlos Tuimavave (hamstring), Jack Ashworth (thumb), Mitieli Vulikijapani (ACL), Nick Staveley (ACL), Harvey Barron (skull), and Cobie Wainhouse (ACL). Kye Armstrong is also expected to make his return from a shoulder injury for the reserves at Warrington this Saturday.
