'Hit-and-run' driver dumped car and made off after crash on city street

A driver dumped their car following a smash on a city street. Now police are appealing for witnesses over the late-night collision in Birches Head.

Staffordshire Police say officers were sent to Oak Street at 12.45am on Wednesday morning (July 3) to reports of a 'non-stop collision'. A spokesman told StokeonTrentLive: "An MG and a Ford Fiesta were involved.

"The driver of the Fiesta got out the car and left the scene on-foot."

The force has confirmed the car was subsequently recovered. Today and officers have issued a plea for witnesses to come forward.

Anyone with information should call Staffordshire Police on 101 and quote incident 31 of July 3.
