Hog Fire in Northern California Nearly 70 Percent Contained

Firefighters had the Hog Fire, which has destroyed two structures and burned more than 9,500 acres in Northern California, nearly 70 percent contained as of Tuesday, July 28, officials said.

The 9,545-acre Hog Fire was 69 percent contained as of Tuesday morning, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE). Firefighters said they “continued to strengthen control lines” around the fire in Lassen County.

Officials said evacuation orders were lifted on Monday, but flames and smoke were still present in the area. This footage, posted on July 26, shows the Hog Fire burning in Susanville in Lassen County.
