This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby has praised the emergency services for their heroic work during the terror attack in Manchester at an Ariana Grande concert last night (May 22), which killed 22 and injured 59.

The 36-year-old presenter was scheduled to present This Morning as usual today, but extensive news coverage in the wake of the attack saw BBC and ITV cancel several of their morning programmes, including Loose Women, Lorraine and numerous others.

Holly uploaded a picture of a police officer hugging a young person who was seemingly caught up in the attack, alongside a tribute that read: "We have such hero's working in our emergency services... Thank you for all you have done and will continue to do... x [sic]."

Prior to that, she also shared emergency contact numbers for various hotels and Facebook's Safety Check feature, to allow users to mark themselves as safe.

Users praised her positive message as they poured their own condolences into the comments on her Instagram post.

One added: "@hollywilloughby thank you for acknowledging the work we do! It does make a difference to us! #westandtogether#coplife #policefamily #prayformanchester"

Another wrote: "That photo is so powerful. The hairs on my arms are standing. Really shows the fears that those poor people experienced. The poor girl looks like she feels safe now.

Meanwhile another said: "Everyone i know is sooo sad and quiet today. ...thinking of all those that lost their lives their families and all those children still missing. Heartbreaking."

Good Morning Britain's Susanna Reid also shed tears speaking about the news, while The Late Late Show's James Corden posted a heartfelt tribute as the news broke in America.

Meanwhile various other stars from the music world joined Ariana Grande in giving their condolences to people killed and affected by the attacks.

Both Coronation Street and Emmerdale stars have given their thoughts on the terror attacks, including Isabel Hodgins from the 'dales who was actually at the concert last night.

However other stars, including Katie Hopkins, Jodie Marsh and Scotty T have caused huge backlash with their responses to the attacks.

Emergency numbers have been made available for those who are concerned about loved ones or anyone who may have been in the area - 0161 856 9400 or 0161 856 9900.
