Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Cleo McQueen will face the police following a work dilemma in Hollyoaks next week.
The nurse is still processing her recent encounter with her childhood abuser Pete, but she'll face a related trauma in her job at the hospital next week.
Cleo starts to suspect that young patient Tommy isn't telling her the whole truth about the injury that landed him in the hospital in order to cover up for his stepfather Adrian.
While boyfriend Toby (Bobby Gordon) tells Cleo (Nadine Mulkerrin) that gut instinct might not be enough to prove anything, she is determined to get to the bottom of her suspicions.
Toby is ultimately swayed by Cleo's fears for Tommy and comes up with a plot to get revenge on Adrian for abusing young Tommy.
Over at the hospital, Cleo is able to have a heart-to-heart discussion with Tommy about his situation – but events spiral throughout the week as Cleo and Toby grapple with what they've done to Adrian.
Their actions attract the attention of DS Cohen, as the detective turns up at the hospital with some questions about Tommy's situation.
Cleo is forced to lie to DS Cohen, incriminating herself in the process. Will DS Cohen figure out that Cleo isn't telling the truth – and what will the consequences be, if so?
Views are aware that childhood trauma is also a trigger for Toby because he was psychologically abused by a twisted doctor as a boy. There's no telling how far he's willing to go to get revenge for Tommy.
Hollyoaks currently airs new episodes from Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
