The far-right group in Hollyoaks put their hateful plot in action in Monday's (September 16) episode, leaving one fan-favourite character fighting for their life.

The episode saw the group's leader Stuart Sumner (Chris Simmons) try to call off plans to target the empty community centre when he found out that they were being surveilled by a plain-clothes detective.

At the same time, Sinead (Stephanie Davis) dropped off Hannah (Maddison Allen) at Leela's house while she got ready for her engagement party, but the mood soured when Sami (Rishi Nair) once again got into a row with Ste (Kieron Richardson).

"You can't stop me from seeing my kid," Ste raged, adding: "Don't even think about doing anything stupid like changing [Hannah's] surname to Maalik."

Sami shot back: "You say you want to be her father, yet you're too stupid to see through a racial stereotype! Too narrow-minded to embrace another culture."

Ste stormed off after warning that he was involved in something "big" that would be taking place that night, which seemed to set off alarm bells for Sinead.

While Ste was angry over Sinead and Sami still refusing to let him see Hannah, he nevertheless doubted Jonny Baxter's (Ray Quinn) secret attempt to continue the plot without Stuart's knowledge by targeting the engagement party at The Loft.

"People are in there! Innocent people," Ste protested. "The mother of my child is in there… This is not making a point! This isn't right!"

A furious Jonny charged out into the garden with a mysterious package in hand after fighting off Ste, unaware that Yasmine Maalik (Haiesha Mistry) was still next door blowing up balloons for the party.

Jonny tried setting the package down onto the garden table, only for it to fall and set off a massive explosion that hurled him and Yazz to the ground.

The explosion could be heard all the way around the village, where a concerned Sami and Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi) tried to figure out what had happened.

Will Yazz survive the impact of the blast?
