Hollyoaks Favourites will jump further back in time tonight (May 20), airing an episode from nearly 14 years ago.

The popular soap is currently repeating classic episodes on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays each week, while new instalments of the show are being rationed due to filming remaining on hold.

So far, Hollyoaks Favourites has aired episodes from the recent past, but that all changes tonight as the show revisits supervillain Clare Devine's memorable storyline.

Wednesday's episode of Favourites is Hollyoaks' Christmas special from 2006, which saw Clare plotting to kill her husband Max.

The classic episode sees an unwell Max at Clare's mercy as they spend time together at a remote cabin near an icy lake.

Max is initially unaware of Clare's dark intentions, which are fuelled by her desire to cash in his £500,000 life insurance policy.

When Max eventually discovers that Clare has been fiddling with his medication, it dawns on him that he could be in terrible danger.

The episode also features a much younger Ellis Hollins in the role of Tom Cunningham, who's also at the cabin with Max and Clare.

Hollyoaks bosses have promised to start featuring much older episodes in Hollyoaks Favourites moving forwards.

Next week, three more classic Brendan Brady episodes will air.

Hollyoaks Favourites airs tonight at 7pm on E4.
