Hollyoaks Spoilers: Ashley Slanina-Davies To Return As Amy Barnes With Duncan James As Her On-Screen Boyfriend

Ashley Slanina-Davies is to reprise her role as Amy Barnes in Hollyoaks - and Blue star Duncan James will be her on-screen boyfriend.

The 26-year-old star portrayed the character regularly from 2005 to 2012 and while she has made several guest appearances, the actress is going to become a regular fixture on the Channel 4 show again.

She told Digital Spy: “I couldn’t be more excited to bring Amy back to Hollyoaks and moving back to Liverpool for such an exciting storyline working with old friends like Kieron and new ones like Duncan.

"I think Amy might find herself stuck between a rock and a hard place with those two!”

Amy, who used to date Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson), will return to Hollyoaks village as the girlfriend of new character Ryan (Duncan).

She will rock up in the village with Ryan and her children Leah and Lucas, but Ste and Ryan may not see eye-to-eye.

A Hollyoaks spokesperson said: “These much-loved characters will be caught in a universal tug-of-love which will chime with many of the audience.

"Ste has made a lot of mistakes, not least his crystal meth addiction, and the ghosts of his past will catch up with his current woes. Viewers will be torn between luckless Ste and a man who on paper is a better example for his children but not their dad.”
