Yahoo News Hollyoaks star Alex Fletcher says no-one will expect what happens next in Tony Hutchinson's story

Hollyoaks star Alex Fletcher has told viewers to gear up for an unexpected twist when it comes to her character's complicated relationship with partner Tony Hutchinson and his father Edward.
Speaking to Inside Soap recently, the actor – who plays Diane on the Channel 4 soap – teased that she'll be sharing more scenes with Edward star Joe McGann in the near future, as Diane realises "her head's being turned" by her husband's dad.
"[It] is wrong on every level," Fletcher stated, before going on to explain that Tony's erratic behaviour – which is, unbeknownst to them, being caused by Edward drugging him – is causing Diane to spend "more of her life unhappy than happy".

"She's mortified as it's happening more often, and is so out of character. He flips out at Walter, so Diane bans him from Mitchell and Scott's wedding, and goes alone," she explained.
"She was more embarrassed at first, but the more it's happening, the more it's not sitting comfortably with her."
When asked what she thinks Diane will do to Edward when she finds out what the evil schemer has been doing to his son, Fletcher joked that "she might bury him under the patio" or something.

"She wouldn't believe someone would do such a thing – it's pretty horrific, isn't it? The most important thing is that Diane and Tony (Nick Pickard) always seem to bounce back," she added.
"I don't think anyone will expect what's going to happen – to be honest, I was shocked! But it'll be great to play."
Hollyoaks makes its return on Monday, September 7 at 6.30pm on Channel 4. The next episode then airs at 7pm on E4 that evening.
