Hollyoaks stars congratulate Stephanie Davis on Corrie role

Stephanie Davis' former Hollyoaks co-stars have sent her their congratulations following the news that she will be joining the cast of Coronation Street.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Davis would be heading to the Cobbles as part of a storyline involving Aadi Alahan.

The actress excitedly confirmed the news via her Instagram account on May 16, posting a photo of herself stood outside the Rovers Return.

Sharing the excitement in the comments were her former co-stars Ross Adams, Kieron Richardson, Rachel Adedeji and Duncan James, who were all happy to see the actress make her return to acting.

Among those congratulating her were Ross Adams and Kieron Richardson, who currently play Scott Drinkwell and Ste Hay respectively.

"Amazing - can’t wait to watch. Congratulations," Richardson wrote, while Adams simply wrote: "SHE’S BACK!!!!!"

"Congratulations!! Have the best time darling," former star Adedeji commented alongside several clapping hands emojis.

Fellow former star Duncan James added: "Massive congrats babe. Awesome news xx."

Davis famously played the role of Sinead O'Connor in Hollyoaks on and off between 2010 and 2019 before confirming that she was leaving the role in 2020.

Davis will be playing the role of newbie Courtney Vance, who will be moving to Weatherfield alongside her husband Darren (played by The Archers' Ryan Early) to work on a business venture alongside Dev Alahan.

However, Courtney soon forms a connection with Dev's teenage son Aadi leading to the pair embarking on an affair.

As Courtney plots secret ways for the pair to meet up, Aadi finds himself entangled in a complicated web of lies, leading to potentially devastating consequences.

The pair will make their on-screen debut in July.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
