Hollyoaks' Tony Hutchinson has some news for Diane

From Digital Spy

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks' Tony Hutchinson will make a shocking admission to his wife Diane when the show returns next week.

Prior to the soap's transmission break in the summer, Tony (Nick Pickard) was being manipulated by his evil father Edward (Joe McGann), who first tampered with his medication and later convinced him he was suffering from a brain tumour.

Edward is trying to get Tony out of the picture so he can win over his daughter-in-law Diane (Alex Fletcher) once again.

As Edward continued to meddle with his son's medication, Tony's family grew increasingly concerned about his erratic behaviour, as he went between being excited for his future to being absolutely furious at any given moment.

With both Tony and Diane still in the dark about what's going on, next week's scenes will see the story pick up where it left off.

As Digital Spy has previously revealed, the episodes airing on Monday, September 7, Tuesday, September 8 and Wednesday, September 9 are filled with flashback scenes – filmed in March before the UK lockdown – which show what happened at Scott and Mitchell's dramatic wedding.

In present day, Diane is among several characters seen in a police interview room, recounting the events of the day that took place months prior.

On the day of the wedding, Diane will be left mortified when Tony, who is still being drugged with testosterone by Edward, has another public outburst.

Unable to take much more, Diane puts her foot down and bans Tony from attending the wedding altogether. Edward will then put another nail in the coffin with his latest move.

However, another flashback scene later on will show Tony revealing some shocking news to Diane. Feeling optimistic, Tony then whisks her off to the bedroom.

Fans will have to wait and see what exactly Tony tells Diane, but scenes in the present day will see his sister Verity finding him in a worrying state. What has happened?

Hollyoaks makes its return on Monday, September 7 at 6.30pm on Channel 4. The next episode then airs at 7pm on E4 that evening.
