Home and Away star Emily Symons on Susie death storyline

Home and Away spoilers follow for UK viewers.

Home and Away favourite Marilyn Chambers is left shellshocked on UK screens next week as word spreads that Susie McAllister has been murdered.

Susie's body is found out in the water, several weeks after the ruthless con artist fled town with the life savings of John Palmer, Leah Patterson and Justin Morgan.

As a murder investigation begins, Marilyn is one of the Summer Bay residents who could be under suspicion.

Marilyn is also keen to support John, Leah, Justin and Irene Roberts, who all face a grilling from new policeman Cash Newman.

There's a big few weeks ahead for Home and Away on UK screens. What were these storylines like to film?

"It's all very dramatic! I have enjoyed being a part of these upcoming storylines because they are completely different to what I have ever been involved in before.

"It is always exciting to be a part of big dramatic storylines and I look forward to watching them play out on screens."

It must be a huge shock for everyone when a body is found out in the water...

"It is such a shocking image for all of them to come out of the Diner and see that a body has washed up on the beach.

"I don't think Marilyn has ever seen something like this before, so she's pretty shocked. Once Marilyn and the other residents find out who it is, everyone is left reeling."

How does Marilyn react when she finds out that Susie is the person who has died?

"Marilyn would never wish anyone dead, but she was definitely not a fan of Susie. After finding out that the body is revealed as Susie, Marilyn is left pretty shocked.

"Susie was an evil character, but perhaps that's not the ending Susie deserved."

The revelation of Susie's death leads to complicated emotions for Marilyn's ex, John. How does Marilyn feel about that?

"Marilyn obviously has compassion for John because he was tricked by this woman.

"While John didn't behave very well when he was with Susie, he was in love with her and he trusted her and I guess that could happen to any of us.

"I think Marilyn feels it's water under the bridge because after what has happened, John needs to be supported and helped."

Could jealousy over Susie and John have been a motive for murder for Marilyn?

"Oh goodness no! I really think Marilyn was okay with John having a new woman in his life, but it was the way that John and Susie behaved in front of her. They were sort of shoving it down her throat.

"I think that Marilyn accepted that their marriage was over and it was not working between them – that's fine – but when John got Susie to serve her their divorce papers, it was a step too far.

"Marilyn is very respectful of the police and the work that they do. The thought that she might be in trouble completely flips her out."

Does Marilyn have any suspicions over who the killer could be?

"Marilyn doesn't have any suspicions, because she feels it couldn't be John, Leah or Justin and it couldn't be Irene either, even though Susie tried to kill Irene before she took off.

"I don't think Marilyn suspects anyone because she is completely blown away by the whole situation."

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm and 6pm on Channel 5 (UK), with first look screenings at 6.30pm on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
