Homes Destroyed as Wildfire Rages on Mountain Slopes in Virginia

At least five homes were destroyed due to a wildfire in Shenandoah County, Virginia, on Thursday, March 21, local media reported, citing officials.

Footage recorded by Jen Violett shows a wildfire in Shenandoah County seen from New Market.

Local media reported that two large fires burning near Basye and northwest of Strasburg were considered contained on Thursday evening.

The county had earlier declared a state of emergency on Wednesday due to fire danger.

No injuries were reported due to the wildfire.
