Horse Trots With Unbridled Enthusiasm Through Middle School on Kids' First Day Back

Students at Hutchinson Middle School in Lubbock, Texas, were greeted on their first day back, August 15, by an English teacher walking a horse through the corridors.

A clip shared to the Lubbock Independent School District’s Facebook page shows English teacher Nathan Dahlstrom walking his four-legged friend, Fancy, through school halls as students looked on in surprise.

Speaking to local media, Dahlstrom said it was Hutchinson Principal Heidi Dye’s idea to have him bring Fancy for the first day of school.

“Not every boss will let you do this, but because we’re Hutch Middle School, and my boss is Heidi, we get to do crazy things all of the time,” Dahlstrom said.
