Huddersfield Town have reportedly had an offer accepted for Bristol Rovers midfielder Antony Evans. Our sister site Bristol Live have claimed that the Terriers have agreed a fee “in the region of £450,000” for the 25-year-old, who was the Gas’ Player of the Season last term.

The same website reported last week that Town had a bid rejected by the fellow League One outfit for Evans. However, they now claim that Town have “returned with an improved offer and are expected to add the midfielder” to their squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Evans featured 52 times for the Gas in all competitions last term, with the midfielder scoring ten goals and registering nine assists. The 25-year-old has made 142 appearances for the Pirates and netted 26 times in total since joining from SC Paderborn in 2021.

The midfielder started his career at Everton, before going on to have loan spells at Morecambe and Blackpool. Evans then joined SC Paderborn in January 2020, before spending the second half of the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Crewe Alexandra, prior to sealing his move to Bristol Rovers. The 25-year-old was the standout performer in a side that finished 15th in League One last term.

The Terriers have made three additions so far this window, with wing-backs Lasse Sorensen and Mickel Miller having joined from Lincoln City and Plymouth Argyle respectively, while fellow midfielder Herbie Kane has signed from Barnsley. Town have also had one departure to date, with Jack Rudoni joining Championship outfit Coventry City.
