As the major road building project continues for the A417 Missing Link scheme, motorists have got used to closures on key routes. The latest road closures will take place on Leckhampton Hill, near the Air Balloon roundabout, this weekend (April 27 to April 28).

National Highways said part of Leckhampton Hill, just under a one mile stretch, will be closed between the Air Balloon roundabout and Ullenwood Manor Road. This is to allow vegetation clearance work to take place.

Closures will be from Saturday (April 27) from 9pm to Sunday, April 28 at 6am. The road will then close again from 9pm on Sunday and reopen on Monday (April 29) at 6am.

A diversion will take motorists via Leckhampton Hill the A40, A435 and A436 and is around nine miles. This has been agreed with Gloucestershire County Council as the most suitable route for diverted traffic.

National Star College and Crickley Hill Country Park will be open for business as usual. These works are subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances - and access for emergency services will be fully maintained during the closures.

Motorists who use the A417 around the junction with the A436 at the Air Balloon roundabout would have seen many changes in recent weeks and months. A new temporary double mini roundabout is in place at the junction of Leckhampton Hill and the A436.

Construction work is also visible near the entrance to Crickley Hill Country Park. While vegetation has been cleared from the Crickley Hill stretch.
