Huge crack formed through cliff face spotted by walker

A huge crack has formed in a cliff near a popular sightseeing spot leaving a dangerous hanging edge.

The rock has split at the top of Beachy Head, East Sussex, a popular spot for sightseers, and was captured on camera yesterday afternoon (8).

Freelance producer Jay Ryder was walking around the head of the cliff when he spotted the split in the rock.

Jay said: "A few days prior I was up taking photos of BASE jumpers and I just noticed it then.

"I actually went up to take photos of the lighthouse so I just thought I'd go over and look.

"Having seen a lot of people standing on the edge of cliffs it's quite an eye opener of effectively how dangerous it can be."

The crack has been fenced off but members of the public are still able to get close.
