A huge new shuffleboard bar from the team behind Flight Club has announced when it will open its doors in Manchester. Electric Shuffle has taken over a prime spot on Deansgate ready to open in the summer.

Billed as a "social experience like no other", the Manchester opening will become the fourth site of the brand nationwide following openings in London and Leeds. And it will be their biggest in the UK when it opens its doors.

It is set to follow a similar design to the Leeds site, which is pictured here, to give revellers an idea of what to expect when it opens.

Bosses say we can expect "addictive and high-energy games, semi-private shuffleboard areas dotted around a stylish art-deco-inspired central bar, an impressive cocktail list and a mouth-watering menu of small plates and stunning sourdough pizza".

Work is underway at the site, which is the former Evans Cycle shop at 201 Deansgate. And today it has been announced it will open to the public from June 21.

The venue will boast a bar with an "industrial-art-deco vibe that oozes retro glamour". Think plush shades of pink, green, mint and blue, distressed metal finishing touches, and art-deco inspired lighting.

We can also expect nods to the city’s rich musical heritage as well as Electric Shuffle’s signature neon bar turbine wheel and vintage electronics.

At 11,400 sq ft, Electric Shuffle Manchester will become the biggest Electric Shuffle venue in the UK, with 15 play spaces and a capacity of 450 people.

As the name of the bar suggests, it has given the classic game of shuffleboard a high-tech makeover. The supercharged version of the game uses state-of-the-art camera vision technology to track and score every puck, capture guests’ best moments with live shareable replays, and can integrate up to 32 players (up to 150 players at once for corporate events).

Bosses say: "It’s shuffleboard as it’s never been seen before." Players can choose from four immersive and fast-paced games, each designed for team-play while still giving individuals their glory.

Games include Eclipse, which sees players aiming to slide and land their puck on (or as close as possible) the target between the middle two zones of the board and Equaliser, which challenges players to land their puck in the zones at the far end of the table to get the highest score.

In terms of food, the menu will offer a wealth of sharing dishes including buttermilk chicken bites with ranch and BBQ dips, spiced cauliflower wings with red pepper tapenade and jalapeño green salsa, sourdough pizza paddles and loaded fries.

The cocktail menu includes signature cocktails, classics with a twist like Salted Caramel Euphoria – a take on the espresso martini, frozen cocktails, and "trophy cocktails" which are served in a show-stopping trophy cup for those who want to toast the Electric Shuffleboard champions.

The venue also offers brunch sessions on weekends where guests can quaff a bottle of Prosecco each and enjoy unlimited pizza over a two hour session. Tickets are £35 and include 60 minutes of gameplay at the shuffleboard and another 60 minutes to continue the drink and pizza party around a table.

CEO Steve Moore co-founded Electric Shuffle and Flight Club alongside Paul Barham. They said Manchester was the logical next place to bring Electric Shuffle after the success of Flight Club in its location at the top of King Street in the city centre since 2018.

Steve said: "We couldn’t be more excited to bring Electric Shuffle to Manchester. We have loved our time in Manchester so far and the welcome that Flight Club has received over the past five years has been incredible.

"We look forward to helping create more memories to last a lifetime at Electric Shuffle.

"From couples’ date nights to corporate events and everything in between, Electric Shuffle is a place that is built for friends by friends, and we can’t wait to show everyone in Manchester what we’ve been working on," Steve continued.

Booking enquiries can now be made at the Electric Shuffle website ahead of the opening on June 21.
