St George’s Day celebrations will take place on Sunday, April 21, in Trafalgar Square. The event is free and full of family-friendly activities.

The celebration is from 12pm to 6pm and will be hosted by Harleymoon Kemp, a singer-songwriter - and daughter of Spandau Ballet's Martin Kemp! She will be performing her latest songs alongside more acts - Folk Dance Remixed, The Snottledogs, West End Kids, Twist and Pulse and She's Got Brass.

As well as live music, there will be traditional fête activities as well as some slightly out-there options. An 'English pentathlon' will be hosted in the family zone with Welly Wanging, Pancake Toss Racing, Competitive Jigsaw Puzzling, Human Crufts (what?) and Bubble Olympics.

There will also be a chance to learn Morris Dancing, sing sea shanties and don yourself in some medieval costumes.

The main stage will feature a mass barn dance from Folkdance Remix, who fuse together the genres of folk and street dance. There will also be performances from indie rock band The Kurfew, dance troupe West End Kids and Margate-based folk band Snottledogs.

For the littlest ones, there's also face painting and a carousel.

Natalie Shay, the 2015 winner of busking competition Busk in London, will also be making a performance. There will be a cockney sing-a-long from musical director Tom Carradine. Nick Howe and the Stringbeats Trio and She’s Got Brass, a women’s brass group, will also be playing.

Fish and chips will be on offer from one of the food stalls, but it's not just limited to traditional English favourites. There will be food from across the world including Korea, China, Thai, Greece, the Middle East and more.
