Tim Walter says his three years spent at Bayern Munich gave him one of the most important traits in football, and that's how to win matches.

The new Hull City head coach was brought to one of the biggest clubs in the world in July 2015 when Bayern, Germany's biggest club, paid 200,000 euros to prize him away from Karlsruhe to manage their Under-17s side before going on to take charge of the reserve side prior to him branching out and becoming a number one at Holstein Kiel.

Walter's path crossed with Pep Guardiola's time in Munich, a link which only helped the 48-year-old develop his own coaching style, one he claimed was 'different' after taking over from Liam Rosenior at the beginning of the month.

The German, who is finalising his plans for the start of pre-season with his new group of players at City on Monday week, says that learning experience at the Allianz Arena was crucial, and hopes it will help develop a winning mentality in the Tigers' dressing room.

"In my whole life, I do things my own way," the German told Hull Live. "I am like I am and that's good for me and it was important for the development of my career at Bayern Munich.

"There, I learned how to win, so winning (was a big learning experience). We want to play offensive, we want to create chances, we want to score, but in the end, we want to win."
