Greg Docherty says he will leave Hull City with memories and friendships that will last a lifetime after his four-year spell at the MKM Stadium draws to a close.

Docherty will leave City this summer after his option year came to an end and the club opted against offering him fresh terms, but safe in the knowledge his name will forever be etched into Tigers folklore.

"After four seasons as a Tiger the time has come to move onto the next chapter of my career," Docherty wrote on social media. "It's hard to put into words how strong a connection I have built with this club and the people connected to it during my time here. "Sometimes football can't always go to plan and while the past season has without doubt been very difficult for a number of reasons, I have still managed to take a lot from it and those experiences have made me even hungrier to progress my own career in the game.

"I want to especially thank every supporter who has shown me nothing but love from the second I arrived. I hope it was clear for you all to see that I loved representing you and your club. "I wish all of my teammates, staff and everyone at the club the best of luck in the future. Thanks for the memories! Doc."
