Losing a player of Jaden Philogene's calibre would be a huge blow to Hull City's hopes of challenging in the upper echelons of the Championship next season. The England Under-21 international is a matchwinner and has given the Tigers an extra dimension in the final third since arriving in a £5m deal from Aston Villa.

Replacing Philogene's flair and creativity out wide would be no easy task. He directly contributed to 18 goals in 32 league appearances last term as City came up short in their play-off quest.

The vultures are circling and La Liga side Barcelona are believed to be keen on adding Philogene to their ranks and have reportedly submitted an offer for the player as they attempt to lure him away from the MKM Stadium. According to German broadcaster Sky Deutschland, the Catalan giants want Philogene on an initial season-long loan deal but with an obligation to buy next year, depending on the number of minutes he plays in the 2024/25 season. The purchase clause is believed to be around the €23m mark.

Philogene's eye-catching performances for the Tigers has caught the eye of scouts from around the Premier League and further afield. Everton are also interested in Philogene, who can be deployed on the right or left flank, but it remains to be seen whether the Toffees will look to enter the race to sign the 22-year-old. The Merseyside club want to bolster their attacking options as they currently have just two wide players in their squad in Dwight McNeil and Jack Harrison. Tottenham and West Ham United have also been credited with an interest in Philogene, with the Hammers said to have entered preliminary discussions about a potential swoop

London-born Philogene has two years left to run on his City contract, with the option of a further 12 months.
