Yusuf Aydin is determined to repay the faith shown in him by Hull FC after signing a two-and-a-half year contract with the club. The 23-year-old has secured his future with the Airlie Birds until the end of the 2026 season after spending the last two weeks on loan from Hull KR.

As reported by Hull Live on Saturday, the move is a swap deal with the Robins, with Jack Brown, who debuted with the Black and Whites back in 2019, heading the other way. Brown, also 23, has signed for the same timeframe after making 73 appearances for the west Hull club.

Aydin, meanwhile, is keen to get cracking after what has been a warm welcome from Simon Grix and co. The Turkish international is the third permanent signing of the Richie Myler era, following on from Tom Briscoe, who has signed on an 18-month contract, and John Asiata, who joins on a three-year deal from 2025.

Coming through the Wakefield Trinity system, Aydin made his first grade debut in 2020 and made 54 appearances for his hometown club. He moved to Hull KR ahead of the 2023 season and has also played for Leeds Rhinos, York Knights, Sheffield Eagles, and Featherstone Rovers.

On the contrary, Brown, baring dual reg or loan spells at Doncaster and Bradford Bulls, had spent his entire career to date at Hull FC. Hull Live understands both clubs were keen to make the deal happen after Brown put pen to paper on a 2025 move to the Robins last week. That saw the east Hull club instigate an earlier deal, allowing Aydin to move the other way.

"I'm really looking forward to staying with Hull FC on a permanent deal," Aydin said. "Right from the get go, everyone made me feel so welcome, and not once did I feel out of place.

"Simon and Richie were keen to bring me to the club and that gave me so much confidence. I'm very grateful for the opportunity and I want to be able to repay them for their faith in me.

"I'm really eager now to give my all for this club and I look forward to playing in the famous Black and White colours in front of a really passionate, loyal group of supporters."

As part of the deal, Brown has completed his move across the city. Hull FC said in a statement: "The club would like to thank Jack for his efforts over the past five-and-a-half seasons, and wish him the very best of luck for the future."

Hull FC’s Director of Rugby, Richie Myler, added: "We’re delighted to have made Yusuf’s move to us permanent. His application of the past fortnight has shown a real desire to compete and be a part of what we are building here. We’d also like to wish Jack well for the future as he embarks on a new challenge with Hull KR, and thank him for his efforts with Black and Whites."

Hull FC have also signed Wigan Warriors edged forward Tiaki Chan on a two-week loan deal. The former Catalans Dragons player, 23, will link up with the Black and Whites squad this week ahead of Sunday's game at London Broncos.
