Hull FC have made another loan signing to bolster their squad. That player is Leigh Leopards outside back Ed Chamberlain, with the player joining on a short-term deal, as first reported by the Yorkshire Post and now officially confirmed by the club.

The 28-year-old, who can play at centre, back row, or on the wing, has been in discussions with the Black and Whites this week, who are keen to bolster their squad with some experienced arrivals. However, Hull Live understands the club have kept tabs on Chamberlain for the last two months, having first made contact about the player's availability back in February.

The outside back has made over 100 career appearances to date. Born in Warrington, he debuted for Widnes Vikings back in 2015 and has also had stints at Whitehaven, Workington Town, Bradford Bulls, Salford Red Devils, and London Broncos. He has also played six times for the Ireland international side.

The outside back or edge forward has a good scoring rate for the Leythers, having managed 21 tries in 49 games. He is also a goal kicker, having accumulated 119 goals in his career to date.

Chamberlain is the club's third short-term loan signing of the season, with Hull acquiring Warrington Wolves duo Matty Russell and Joe Bullock for two games back in March. Russell has since been playing for Wire's reserve side after recovering from a pec injury, while Bullock has forced his way back into the first-team picture.

As exclusively reported by Hull Live this Tuesday morning, Hull are also negotiating a swap deal with Leigh Leopards for Tom Briscoe in a move that will see Darnell McIntosh go the other way. Both players will move on season-long loan deals, which will be made permanent next season. Chamberlain, who will go straight into Hull's squad against Leeds Rhinos this weekend, is understood to be part of that deal.
