Hull FC fielded six of their newest first-teamers against Bradford Bulls on Sunday afternoon, with Lennon Bursell, Jack Charles, Mackenzie Harman, Jeylan Hodgson, Sully Medforth, and Logan Moy all featuring at Odsal.

All were promoted to Tony Smith's senior squad for the 2024 season alongside Kye Armstrong and Cobie Wainhouse, who are nursing long-term injuries. Here, Hull Live looks at how the six got along in West Yorkshire.

Logan Moy - 1
Capable of playing across the spine, Moy lined up at full-back against Bradford. He was good on the ball and was a threat when attacking the line. He has some pace in his locker too, with a second-half break to boot, and while he was helpless to prevent Daniel Smith from scoring (a mismatch in size, let's be fair), he did produce one last-ditch tackle in the first half that shouldn't go unnoticed.

Mackenzie Harman - 6
The half-back plays with a lot of energy, and he put that to good use at Odsal. He ran the ball and used his edge players to effect. Most importantly, there's a genuine desire and hunger to make it at this club, which will serve him well. Harman is certainly one to watch, and you'd be naive to bet against him debuting at some point this year.

Sully Medforth - 7
The half-back had two spells on the field, and it's fair to say his second was better than his first, not that two kicks bouncing dead on a smaller pitch take much away from him. Nevertheless, Medforth returned later on and contributed to the fightback, supplying a slick pass for Lewis Martin to score. He plays the first receiver role well, and a senior appearance should give him some confidence for what lies ahead.

Lennon Bursell - 8
The young forward can play across the pack and found himself starting at prop against Bradford. He scored the first try of the game, stretching out to put the ball over the line, and he continued to mix himself up against some more senior and sizeable players. That will do him the world of good.

Jack Charles - 14
It's no secret that Hull FC have high hopes for Jack Charles, with Hull Live understanding that the half-back, who can also slot in at full-back, has signed a long-term deal at the club. As soon as he came on, his quality was felt, despite being just 17 years old. He brings players on to the ball and combines well with his edge while having a fair running game himself. He was certainly the pick of the young group at Odsal, as pointed out by head coach Tony Smith, with a big future seemingly ahead of him.

Jeylan Hodgson - 17
Nephew of former Hull FC and Hull KR player Josh Hodgson, Jeylan gave a good account of himself from the bench with some sharp distribution. He also produced some runs from dummy-half in a promising account, with the hooker aiming to make his first-team debut at some point this year.
