Fronting the series is BBC Three favourite Stacey Dooley - although the former Strictly Come Dancing winner admits cooking isn't in her repertoire of skills.

She said: "I’ve only got one dish – and it’s not what you’d imagine because it’s quite a tricky dish. Considering I can’t cook it’s sort of a bit odd that I can nail this… it’s a Sunday roast. Although I do buy the chicken in the bag. Failing that… crumpets!"

Luckily, Dooley is joined by two pros - rapper and TV cook Big Zuu, and personal chef to the stars Kayla Greer, known as Chef Kay Kay.

Big Zuu said: "We’re all from very different backgrounds but we clicked straight away and there’s a lot of love."

LA-based Chef Kay Kay counts Drake, P Diddy, Demi Lovato and Justin Bieber amongst her clients and brings a straight-talking style to the contest.

Each episode also includes a varied line-up of guest judges, including Snoochie Shy, Wes Nelson, Kye Whyte, and food industry experts from Nando's, Quorn and Tortilla.

The 10 young cooks competing in the series are aged between 19 and 27, and each brings their own heritage and tastes to their style of food.

Contestants will be aiming for the grand prize of a culinary trip of a lifetime, but even if they don't win the series, they can bag impressive prizes in each challenge.

In a MasterChef-style competition, they'll take on different challenges each episode before the Knives Out final round sees them fight to stay in the contest.

Tasks include transforming ordinary food into something extraordinary, serving burgers to 100 hungry customers, and a chicken-themed week.

Knives Out elimination challenges will include recreating a recipe video against the clock, and making food that has gone viral on TikTok.

Hungry For It starts on Tuesday 7 June at 8pm on BBC Three.
