Hurricane Fiona Lashes Turks and Caicos Amid Warnings of 'Life-Threatening Flash Flooding'

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) warned of heavy rainfall and life-threatening flash flooding over portions of the Turks and Caicos as Hurricane Fiona impacted the islands on Tuesday, September 20.

Turks and Caicos authorities warned residents to stay inside and refrain from entering the waters as Fiona was upgraded to a Category 3 hurricane, with maximum sustained winds of 125 mph.
