Hurricane Sally Churns Up Strong Waves on Gulf Coast in Pensacola Beach, Florida

Hurricane Sally whipped up waves in Pensacola Beach, Florida on September 14, as the hurricane approached the Gulf Coast.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) said Monday morning that Sally “rapidly” strengthened into a hurricane with winds reaching 90 mph. The NHC warned of coastal flooding and “dangerous” storm surge. Additionally, the National Weather Service warned of a “potentially historic flooding event” for southwest Alabama, southwest Mississippi, and coastal sections of the Florida panhandle.
