When ‘Friends’ star Matthew Perry revealed that he used to “beat up” Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, at school, we were kind of hoping that the pair would go another round inside the ring, if only to see athletic Trudeau’s bulging biceps!

And then for a moment, on April 1st, we believed our dreams had come true when the hunky PM tweeted the actor to ask for a “rematch”.

However, after a day considering his schoolmate’s offer, Perry – who played Chandler Bing in ‘Friends’ – turned the politician down.

He posted the message Sunday on Twitter after Trudeau playfully took aim at him on April fools’ day.

“I think I will pass at your request for a rematch kind sir (given that you currently have an army at your disposal)” the TV legend wrote.

Last month, Perry revealed that despite being two years older than the popular PM, he used to lash out at Trudeau because he was jealous of his sporting ability.

He explained at the time: “I have a story about him that I’m not proud of.

“My friend Chris Murray, who was also in the fifth grade in Canada, reminded me that we actually beat up Justin Trudeau. We both beat him up.”

We think the real reason Perry turned down the rematch is that he has no hope in winning. Canada’s PM once worked as a bouncer and as a snowboarding instructor before making it big in politics and previously went toe to toe with Canadian Conservative Patrick Brazeau in a charity boxing match in 2012 and came out the champ.

But, we still have hope that Perry will change his mind and accept Trudeau’s offer for the sake of charity…
