Iconic British rapper Dizzee Rascal to headline 2024 Surrey festival this summer

This year's Summertime Live festival in Surrey is set to send heads spinning, with a stellar headline act. UK rap artist Dizzee Rascal is scheduled to take to the stage this summer at one of Surrey’s most popular racecourses.

While there won’t be any racing on the day of the festival, there will be plenty of music, and entertainment at Kempton Park Racecourse. The Sunbury spot has been hosting the musical fiesta for years now, with Summertime Live. The festival is on Saturday 31st August.

Billed to have an amazing support lineup, it is yet to be announced which artists will also join Dizzee Rascal. The rapper shot to fame after his first album was released, Boy in da Corner, featuring the single Fix Up, Look Sharp.

The musician was mentored by MC and DJ Wiley and joined forces with his grime crew Roll Deep early in his career as a teen. Since starting out, Dizzee Rascal has an honorary Doctorate of the Arts from the University of East London, and was also appointed as an MBE in 2020 for services to music.

Dizzee boasts eight albums, including Don’t Take it Personal, released on February 23, 2024. It’s likely the rapper may play some of his new sounds, as well as classics such as Dance Wiv Me and Bonkers.

Aside from music, the festival will also provide bars to grab refreshments, street food stalls to try different cuisines and pop-up shops including glitter stalls and entertainment. There is also a VIP garden, which is a private hang-out area with posh loos.

There will be a viewing platform for those who are disabled. Furthermore, if a customer is unable to attend without assistance, a carer ticket can be issued at no extra cost.

While Dizzee Rascal will be playing at Kempton Park on 31st August, the day before Kempton Park will host 'Classic Ibiza'. Classic Ibiza have sold out shows all over the UK with the ultimate trip down dance music memory lane. Bringing dance anthems like Insomnia, Sandstorm, Born Slippy, Levels and more to orchestral life. The event takes places from 5pm - 11pm.

• Food and drink is not permitted into the event. There will be a variety of bars and food available to purchase onsite. Sealed and full water bottles no more than 500ml are permitted.

• Limited seating is provided as it is an open-air event, however there will be seating in the food and beverage area. Visitors can bring their own fold-up chairs and blankets
