Idris Elba has his heart set on a collaboration with Adele, but said he has to "earn some more stripes" in music before he's ready to make it happen.
The 49-year-old actor, who has performed as a DJ with the moniker Big Driis, told the Mirror he hopes to work with Adele further down the line in his career.
He said: “If one day I make a record and Adele says ‘I kind of like it’, I will definitely build up the courage and say: ‘Hey, Adele, you wanna do a collab?’
“I think I have got to earn some more stripes before that happens.”
Adele and Elba met earlier this month when Elba presented the star with a Brit Award for Album Of The Year — one of three prizes she won on the night.
It seems Adele is as much of a fan of Elba as he is of her, noting last year that she would love to see the long-standing rumours come true about the star and the role of James Bond.

Adele cited Elba and American actor Jonathan Majors — most recently seen in Netflix film The Harder They Fall and Disney series Loki — as her ideal choices for 007.
Elba remains among the bookies' favourites to take over from Daniel Craig, along with Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page, Henry Cavill, Tom Hardy and Richard Madden.
Adele earned the biggest-selling album of 2021 with 30, which also earned a UK number one single with Easy On Me.
Second single Oh My God made it to number two, but was only held away from the top spot by Easy On Me.
The singer was recently forced to reschedule her Las Vegas residency, apologising to fans as she said the concert "isn't ready" due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
She is expected to perform the residency in the summer.
