The 78-year-old former Strictly Come Dancing judge became the first contestant to be evicted from the ITV reality show and revealed the luxuries she enjoyed during her time way from the castle last weekend - including food and Netflix.
Dame Arlene told Good Morning Britain: "It was a blessing in disguise.
"It was very strange going back because you're out of the castle but still in isolation, but to me it was great because I managed to get delivered by hair dye.

"I could do my roots and it was the biggest thrill of a lifetime to go back without my roots showing."
She also revealed: "We didn't get our phones back, I wish! The only thing we had to watch was Netflix. No news, no family contact, nothing.
"We spent a day in the castle, we didn't know where we were going to go, what was going to happen, we were taken into isolation and we all had separate houses, food waiting for us, we were totally isolated."
Last weekend the ITV reality show was cancelled and the celebrity contestants - who include footballer David Ginola, Loose Women presenter and former Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge and Emmerdale star Danny Miller - were removed from the castle for their own safety following Storm Arwen.
The contestants were quarantined individually for three days, in line with coronavirus restrictions while the damage to the production site was repaired.
Hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly had told viewers: ""For safety reasons the celebs were evacuated and taken to separate locations with no phones, no internet, not TV and no access to the outside world."
During their time on the show the celebrities live on basic rations of rice and beans, and win extra basic food supplies by taking part in trials.
Dame Arlene holds the record as the oldest ever contestant to take part in the ITV reality show.
Leaving the castle she confessed: "I never camp - my family all camp, I've never camped. I've done it now."
