A Place In The Sun's Scarlette Douglas is "absolutely devastated" to be the second contestant voted out of I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! 2022.

The 35-year-old TV presenter burst into tears after hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly announced she would be leaving the camp, and bid her fellow campmates an emotional goodbye.

She confessed: "I'm gutted. Absolutely gutted. I'm not even going to lie about it, I know some people wanted to leave, but I didn't. Those people are incredible and the jungle is amazing."

Douglas said she felt she had become a lot braver during her two weeks taking part in the reality show.

She said: "There was a point when there was spider in the RV and I ran away screaming and I cried. But now there was another spider in there and I helped get it out."

The property show host admitted she liked to keep busy and so had volunteered to help with all the chores in the camp.

She said: "I love getting stuck in and I wanted to make sure I did everything so if I did get to the final three or whatever, that I knew what I was doing."

And she said that Hollyoaks star Owen Warner being so hungry all the time had driven her to work hard to win food in trials.

She said: "Owen looks at you like you're a chicken drumstick! So I need to get any food I can so I can feed that boy."

Despite being camp chef, often at the centre of conflict around the cooking, Douglas insisted it had been easy to keep her cool.

She said: "I'm very good at being 'It is what it is" and I walk away, I don't like to react to things."

Douglas said of her fellow campmates: "I miss them already."

And she would like comedian Babatunde Aleshe to win.
