I'm A Celebrity: Nigel Farage and Fred Sirieix locked in heated Brexit row
Fred Sirieix confronted Nigel Farage in the I'm A Celeb jungle
What did you miss?
Tensions were rising in the I'm A Celebrity jungle when Nigel Farage and Fred Sirieix had a furious exchange over Brexit and politics.
The First Dates star confronted the former politician - who was UKIP's leader from 2006 to 2009 and 2010 to 2016 as well as the Leader of the Brexit Party from 2019 to 2021.
Social media had heaps of praise for the BBC Two's Million Pound Menu star challenging the former UKIP leader over politics - but the rest of the I'm A Celebrity campmates tried to steer clear of the conversation.
How, what and why?
Conversation in the I'm A Celebrity camp turned to politics and Josie Gibson asked what Boris Johnson was like on a personal level.
To which, Farage revealed he was "surprisingly introverted" and that it was all a "big act".
But tensions begun to simmer when Sirieix asked Farage direct about Brexit.
He said: "What’s the benefit of Brexit then? If you are an average person from Britain, what’s the benefit?"
Farage responded: "To know that we're independent, we stand on our own two feet in the world."
Sirieix then brought up UKIP's campaign poster claiming that immigrating was at "breaking point" which was reported to the police for racial hatred at the time.
He said: "Brexit was about immigration, I remember your poster. I thought it was shameful what you did Nigel. Shameful."
Farage defended the poster, saying: "Sadly, sadly it was absolutely true. It was a poster showing mass young men moving illegally across borders."
Sirieix hit back: "It was about demonising migrants."
Farage disagreed with: "No it wasn't. In your view it was but it wasn't."
Sirieix set out: "It's not only my view."
Farage then set out his stance on Brexit, saying: "Brexit is about one thing and one thing only; being self-governing. We’re in charge. We can get it right, we can make an absolute mess of it but we’re in charge and the people who make those decisions we can hire and fire at elections where they have real power."
Sirieix pondered: "I think the average person in the UK has lost out because of what you've done."
Unable to agree, Sirieix later said: "We will have to agree to disagree."
By this point, the other campmates had scattered to go do chores as they wanted to avoid the heated politics debate that was rumbling on.
Social media however went wild for Sirieix challenging Farage. "Fred challenging Farage on Brexit “what’s the benefit of it for the average person” Farage - mumbles about “stand on our own two feet” yes in piles of sewage and no ability to move freely from the mess you made .. cheers Nigel, you charlatan," one wrote.
"Good for Fred Sirieix. He also had a go at him for ‘that poster’ I’m watching it as my daughter enjoys the show. Probably wouldn’t otherwise, largely as I’ve seen it all before.."
"Well done fred sirieix for saying what we think. I knew we can count on him."
What else happened on I'm A Celebrity?
Farage got naked in the outdoor shower - leaving Josie Gibson visibly shocked.
Completely taken back, the This Morning presenter shared her shock in a piece to camera.
She said: "I wasn't expecting to see Nigel Farage's bottom. I've seen worse."
And then quickly added: "No I haven't! Fair play to him. He's not shy, he gets on in there. At least he's clean."
Plus, Jamie Lynn Spears got very emotional when she talked about her teenage pregnancy and how she hid herself away from the rest of the world.
She also finally mentioned her sister Britney and opened up a little bit about their relationship to fellow campmate Fred Sirieix.
The singer went off crying but the campmates quickly hatched a plan to cheer her up as she was missing home. It involved sorting her a bath and serenading her.
