I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’s Anne Hegerty admitted to laying awake all night and crying when she first entered the jungle.

Hegerty, who is known as The Governess on The Chase, made the confession to fellow camper Nick Knowles.

“I spent the first three days asking myself that and on the first night I lay awake all night crying just thinking what have I done. So I started to list all the people I was going to disappoint. Now I can imagine staying until I get voted off,” she said in scenes that reportedly didn’t air.

Praising her co-stars for their support and understanding, Hegerty added: “I think Nick has been keeping an eye out for me, he knows how tough I found it to begin with.”

Insisting that the show wouldn’t be the same without her, Knowles told the quiz boff: “It would have been a much lesser experience without you here.”

Hegerty’s comments come after she opened up about living with Asperger’s.

During a chat with EastEnders star Rita Simons just days after they entered the jungle, The Chase star said: “I didn’t raise the autism issue. It’s not like: ‘I want you to know I have this interesting disability that you have to accommodate’.”

“If someone else raises it then I make it quite clear that I’m happy to talk about it.”

After opening up to Simons, Hegerty told the cameras: “I really appreciate how nice and sympathetic they’ve been to me. It was nice that they said I pick up on social cues because I’m never quite sure that I entirely do.

“I just get overwhelmed with all the things there are to do,” she added.
